Beer-Breath Kisses
Beer-Breath Kisses, by Damon McKinney
In this short hybrid prose collection, grit lit meets small-town honky-tonk. Damon McKinney weaves his own family narratives within fictionalized landscapes of reservation life as the world of Eastern Oklahoma glows the shade of red clay dirt, offering a glimpse into the realities of trauma and what remains in its wake. The speaker in these stories grieves the loss of both a place and the people that made it home while remaining hopeful that Beer-Breath Kisses may linger a little longer.
