Under the Canopy of Unpruned Leaves, by Nina Prater

In this debut chapbook by Arkansas poet Nina Prater, simple acts become meditative practices. Domestic and outdoor worlds converge in the internal life of a speaker attuned to the transformative potential within everyday moments. Whether sifting flour, admiring the Ozarks, or pondering life's shifting seasons, the voice in Under the Canopy of Unpruned Leaves takes comfort in a home that leaves room for joy in the face of an often-precarious world.

Nina Prater is a poet and sustainable agriculture specialist. Her poems have been published by One Sentence Poems, Buddhist Poetry Review, Literary Mamaand A Revolutionary Press. Born and raised in Vermont, she studied English and Environmental Science at William Smith College in Geneva, New York, and then Soil Science at the University of Arkansas. Nina lives with her husband and their two inquisitive children on a small farm in the Arkansas Ozarks, where they raise livestock and tend a haphazard garden.
