Anna Baker Smith grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, the granddaughter of a Methodist minister. From 1995 to 2008, she lived and worked at a center for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in Trinity County, California. She has an MFA in fiction from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she now teaches part-time. Her writing has appeared in Essay Daily, The Fourth River, PANK, Massachusetts Review, TriQuarterly, After the Art, and elsewhere.
